VI 1

The Vi1 is a fully autonomous console with 32 inputs and 27 analog outputs on its own chassis, plus 6 digital inputs, 4 stereo effects and 6 digital outputs. In standard, its input mixing capacity extends to 46 channels, and by adding a stage rack (identical and compatible with the Vi series) it increases to 64. The channels will then be transferred to 24 multifunction bus plus 2 LR buses and 1 single bus. 8 buses can be configured in Matrix mode, each with 16 sources. Measuring only one metre wide, the control surface includes 16 faders of motorized channels with fixed or customised assignment configurations, 8 output faders/VCA and 2 faders master. The Vi1 has a new Vistonics screen/control interface, which is immediately familiar to any engineer who has already handled a Vi6, Vi4 or Vi2 console. The surface displays the 16-channel parameters simultaneously and thereafter on a single 22" Vistonics touch screen. The top half of the screen hosts the output section controls, the view list and menus. The control of the channel parameters is done with 2 rows of 16 rotary encoders. We find the same features as on Vi6 and Vi4 consoles, including the same snapshot, talkback and monitoring formats. Naturally, the Vi1 inherits many strengths from its great sisters, such as the FaderGlowTM fader coloring process, 4 integrated Lexicon stereo effects, graphics editors BSS on all exit buses and all dynamic treatments on all channels. The console is compatible with the “shows” of Vi4 and Vi6 consoles through the free Virtual Vi offline editing software.
