A7X

An ancestor of the A7X model, the A7 monitor has quickly become ADAM Audio's most famous product thanks to over thirty test benches, countless awards and an ever-expanding fan community.
The ADAM A7 monitor remains the reference monitor in many small and medium-sized production structures. By creating the A7X model, ADAM has developed a monitor with improved performance in all respects despite comparable dimensions and the use of similar technologies. The first improvement concerns the X-ART type tweeter which equips all models of the AX series. In the name of the transducer, the X stands for “eXtended frequency response”, in other words an almost linear frequency response extended up to 50 kHz. In addition to this improvement, the ART tweeter offers higher efficiency and a higher maximum sound pressure level. This transducer is associated with a 7” woofer dedicated to frequencies from 42 Hz to 2.5 kHz for almost unbeatable sound precision and linearity. In addition to doubling the power of the amplification stage, the size of the voice coil of the woofer has been significantly increased (38 mm) in order to develop a sound pressure level unrelated to the reduced dimensions of the monitor. The transducers are powered by a dual power stage consisting of a 50 watt A/B amp for the tweeter and a 100 watt PWM amp for the woofer. The front of the monitor offers a volume control whose setting is retained regardless of the position of the power switch. The rear panel offers a high frequency level adjustment (±4 dB) as well as two shelf filters to process the low and high end of the spectrum. The connection includes a balanced input on XLR as well as an unbalanced input on RCA.
