The DR-60D MKII is a compact 4-track digital audio recorder, designed for use with a DSLR digital reflex camera (DSLR)Digital Single-Lens Reflex) or DSLM (Digital Single-Lens Mirrorless) used as camcorder. It is fixed to the camera, and offers various audio inputs/outputs, in order to record the sound in high resolution, in parallel to the image, but on a separate support from the one on which the camera stores video data.
The recorder incorporates micro preamps of HDDA technology, exclusive Tascam, recognized for their high signal/noise ratio, low background noise level and very low distortion. The recordings are made at a sampling frequency of 44.1/48/96 kHz, at a 16-bit or 24-bit digital resolution, in WAV or BWF format. In addition to a "regular" stereo recording mode, it is possible to record up to 4 channels simultaneously, which can then be mixed as a stereo signal. Recording levels are controlled independently on entries 1, 2, and 3-4, and the Dual Recording function allows the recording of the same file in parallel at different levels.
The DR-60D MKII also allows you to send a high-quality audio signal to a DSLR/DSLM digital camera, for recording as a reference track; in the opposite direction, a "Camera" input allows you to record the control sound captured by the digital camera. Other available features include MS decoding (mid-Side microcouples), the Slate Tone (automatic/manual) function, adjustable delay and other recording tools.
