The SDI-202 is a multi-function unit powered by either a 9V battery or a mixer with phantom power. The high impedance of the instrument mode allows the connection of an instrument with a high output impedance, such as an electric or acoustic guitar with a piezo-ceramic pickup. This mode also allows you to connect electrical devices with an unbalanced output such as keyboards or DJ tables without balanced outputs. The RCA input is ideal for this type of configuration. The SDI-202 also has a speaker mode for directly connecting guitar amps. Its balanced outputs generate a clean signal at low level, which allows the use of long cables. Optimizing its frequency response on the connected inputs helps cancel out interference, hum and other parasitic noise.
